Idea
The idea of creating a music CD started in late 2014. At first, I created a CD with my music on it so we could listen to it in the car when we go out.
This was done fairly quickly and the artwork was just my profile picture and the text “Stereo Ninja Music” printed below it.

Only two copies of this CD are in existence; the first copy is shown in the image below.

The second copy was sent to one of my friends as a Christmas present.
This copy was a bit more polished than the first one and it had a label printed for the CD.
I haven’t got a picture of the disc, but it was just a grey label with the text “Stereo Ninja Music”. This copy also has my signature on the front as well.
You can see the tracks that I have chosen for this CD in the image above.
These two copies are considered by me as the first prototype of the CD that I would eventually put on my website.

STEREO NINJA MUSIC VOLUME 1
After creating the two CDs, the idea came to me about the possibility of offering some CDs as a form of donation on my website.
In fact, one of my viewers actually got in contact with me and asked me if I had a CD available.
When I looked at the artwork on the first prototype, I felt that it was a bit amateurish as I had just taken my logo and added some text to it.
While looking through a box full of CDs, I found a classical music CD and I noticed how simple the artwork design was.
I liked the simplicity of its design, so I ended up creating a new artwork that looked similar.

Matthew's Dream Limited addition
I also thought of the idea of releasing additional albums in the future as I create more music. This is why I decided to name the first CD as “Stereo Ninja Music Volume 1”.
The prototype that I had sent to my friend used printable labels that are stuck on to the top of the disc. Unfortunately these labels have been known to come off inside the CD player, which could cause some problems.
I recently purchased a Canon Pixma printer which has got “Direct to Disc” printing. This enables me to print directly onto printable CDs, which eliminates the risk of the label coming off inside the CD player.
The quality of the printing is also much better and the finished product looks more professional than using the stick on labels.

As my YouTube Channel will be one year old on the 26th March 2015, the idea came to me to create a special limited addition print of Matthew’s Dream; the first album that I made public and what started my YouTube channel.
I was originally thinking about creating a limited print of around 10 to 20 copies of Matthew’s Dream and selling them from my website as a celebration of my Channels one-year anniversary.
I did however feel that the demand for such a CD would be really low as not that many people watch Matthew’s Dream on my YouTube Channel, so I ended up scrapping that idea.
Still I wanted to create a draft copy to see what it would look like.

Although I like having digital file formats like MP3 M4A and FLAC etc, there’s something nice about having an actual CD in my opinion. I like being able to hold the case and look at the artwork, and most importantly its fun to make.
